The artist Daniël Groen (Ubach 1957 - Amsterdam 2001) studied from 1975 to 1979 at the National Academy in Amsterdam and got known in the 1980s with figurative drawings, at a time when the abstract art celebrated supreme. In the 1980s and 1990s he exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally.
Well known are Groens installations with drawings, where the artist systematically cut a corner. Green was a radical artist, what he believed to be true had to be accepted to all consequences. In his vision, an artist says something about what is not.
Daniël Groen has been included in the collection of, a.o., the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. Exhibitions, a.o., in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (2002), Museum Kroller-Muller (2004), and museum Bommel van Dam in Venlo.
