Kamsheh - Carpet - 273 cm - 140 cm

Description
Kamsheh - Carpet - 273 cm - 140 cm
Wool on wool - Iran - Late 19th century

Kamsheh nomads, Luri.
Kamsheh means 5.
1890 - 1910.
Antique carpet, worn to make it look like a kilim.
The pattern is a very simplified abstract from Simorgh de Firebird.
The triple T is also found among other nomadic tribes.

Beautiful when used as a tapestry. This is a special mythological depiction and can be taken seriously as an art historical object.
This object is beyond petty bourgeois conventions. As it is, one would allow small tears or some fraying.
