Antonio Sciacca - Medusa

Description
Antonio Sciacca - Medusa
Oil on canvas, JUTA canvas - Artist's stamp, Hand signed, Photocertification of the artist holding the work - 2019

In this work, made of a very precious JUTE canvas, master Sciacca depicts one of the most majestic representations of Greek myths, Medusa.  She was able to petrify anyone with a single glance, in this representation, she is depicted after the battle against Perseus, who managed cunningly and bravely to find an inventive method to defeat her. Master Sciacca pays homage to the great Florentine artist Cellini also in the representation of the amphisbaena that is born from the blood of the severed head.
The vivid and bright red colour stands out even more thanks to the elegant and mysterious black background.
