Early 20th century Bar brooch stamped 9kt.
This bar brooch is delightful and it was probably made late 19th century to early 20th century due to some clues.
The brooch has visible soldering where they have placed the 9kt stamp, there is only the stamp and no other hallmarks, the hinge setting on the pin and the typical basic "C" clasp.
The inner circle of the bar brooch is pink gold where we can see a little damage on the inner gold circle.
The outer circle and leaves and scroll work is yellow gold.
The main focus is the lovely round mixed cut garnet which measures approx. 5mm x 5mm.
This is then surrounded with four gold leaves full of little turquoise cabochons, with one turquoise cabochon as extra decoration on the scroll work.
There are 13 small turquoise about 1mm round.
Unfortunately the pin has been replaced with a silver coloured metal.
The safety catch is in yellow gold and this looks as though it might be a newer piece added to the brooch.
