Jaquin - Paris, toujours Paris

Jaquin - Paris, toujours Paris
Oil on canvas - Hand signed - 1970

Work by the artist Jaquin dedicated to Paris, the town that is beautiful even when it’s sad.
Representation of the French capital in the early 20th century.
Quick brush strokes inspired by the artistic and literary movements that started to become popular on the whole European continent and especially given by Futurism. However, it’s an Italian outstanding feature that didn’t gain ground as a movement in France, but found noteworthy exponents also there, like Jaquin.

People are not detailed but fast silhouettes moving in that metropolis that began to take shape, to be the Paris that we all know today.

Use of shades of blue and light blue with brown and red touches to highlight some subjects.
Overall dimensions: 95 x 60 cm.
