Isfahan Kurk rug, very soft, signed AB Shahi, 1970s.

These carpets are manufactured exclusively in big cities, in schools, workshops and laboratories and are usually made of silk or wool-silk mix, on stable aluminium looms that can be very large to manufacture giant sizes, suitable for palaces, council rooms, embassies, villas, ceremonial rooms and mansions.

The knotting is always very dense, shaven very short and with an extremely detailed pattern and compact pile. The most famous examples of these techniques are Persian carpets.
