Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans (1812-1884) - Stadsgezicht aan de haven
Watercolour - Hand signed - 1850

Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans (Breda, 13 July, 1812 - there, 3 January 1884) was a Dutch artist and photographer. He was one of the first naval painters from Noord-Brabant.

Kannemans, who first worked as a house painter, had a successful career as a painter. His painter's shop was transformed into a studio. King Willem II, among others, gave him assignments and supported him financially so that he could make study trips along the coasts of some neighbouring countries. The sketches he made served as the basis for his art. He taught drawing at two schools in Breda.

During his life, he exhibited in Dunkirk and Philadephia.
