Wim Vaarzon Morel jr (1931) - Hoogovens

Wim Vaarzon Morel jr (1931) - Hoogovens
(Chalk) drawing - Hand signed - 1956

This is an early work from the oeuvre of the famous Dutch horse painter Wim Vaarzon Morel jr. (1931). Created at 25 years of age. We see a fairly unusual motif for the painter namely the interior of a steel mill (blast furnaces). As a spectator you feel just as small as the figures in the foreground within the large production area.

Wim Vaarzon Morel Jr. (1931) is the grandson of the painter Willem Vaarzon Morel. Wim Vaarzon Morel studied at the Académie La Grande Chaumière in Paris and at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam, where he was also a professor for many years. The subjects of the paintings, drawings and watercolours of Wim Vaarzon Morel are very diverse, among others seascapes, paintings of horses and trotting, flower still lifes and landscapes
