À slightly larger than life-size stucco head, this sensitive rendition of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni displays powerful patrician features, with heavily lidded almond-shaped eyes under high arching brows, and full lips. His heart-shaped face framed by elongated, pierced ears, and wavy hair pulled back. the use of stucco, the treatment of the hair and the distinct facial features all indicate a Taxila origin.
Exhibited during Parcours des Mondes, Masken september 2015 Paris.
