Constant Artz lived and worked in Soestdijk. He was a pupil at the academy of fine arts in The Hague and received advice from Hendrik Willem Mesdag. Constant Artz preferably painted water views with ducks and ducklings in all their glory. Willem Maris was his biggest inspiration. He also often taught drawing and painting lessons. Constant Artz was the son of the Hague School painter D.A.C. Artz.
