Rare antique VELVETONE Tram Bell NY BELCO.
The Velvetone bell was produced in the United States from the late 19th to mid 20th centuries.
They were used for trams and old cars as a warning bell.
The bell was mounted on the bottom of the vehicle and was activated with the foot. Two large half-round copper shells and a spring inside, produce a very loud ding-dong sound when the pedal is pressed.
In good working condition, still attached to the original wooden structure, with a string attached to the pin.
