Description
Germany, Rheingau; Adelaide de Stolterfoth - Album du Rhin - 1821-1850
With descriptions

Early, very rare edition of the German canon Adelaide de Stolterfoth, in a French translation of her Rheinisches Album (Mainz 1839) with 30 delicate steel engravings from Rheingau and Wisperthal with extensive descriptions of Wiesbaden and Mainz. Fold-out map.
Adelaide was canon in Birken with Bayreuth and Barones. The engravings sometimes exhibit some light rust spots, as is normal for such copies from the mid 19th century. Cardboard binding very lightly worn. With images from Asmanshausen, Kiedrich, Eberbach, Reichartshausen, Johannisberg, Marienthal, Geisenheim, Rüdesheim, Klopp, Lorch, Rheinberg, Geroltstein, Wiesbaden and Mainz. I cannot find any copies on the internet, not in ZVAB, Addall, WorldCat.
