Anna Elisabeth Kerling (1862-1955), which was taught by horses painter Otto Eerelman and later also by Suze Robertson. Anna was born on 19 March 1862 in The Hague and died on 22 March 1955 in The Hague. Anna Kerling was successful; among others, Queen Emma bought work from her.
Anna was self-taught - drawing and painting. She made, among other things, landscapes, portraits, city views and (flower) still lifes.
Anna was a member of Arti et Amicitiae, the Hague painters association Odin and Pulchri Studio.
At the World Exhibition of 1900 in Paris, Anna won an honourable mention and a bronze medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.
Anna Elisabeth Kerling is included in the very famous Scheen: Scheen 1969, Vol. 1, p. 589 (as: Kerling, Anna Elisabeth (‘Anna’) Kerling;*).
