Wouter van Soest (1957) - Kleine zilver reiger

Wouter van Soest (1957) - Kleine zilver reiger
Oil on panel - Hand signed - 2009

Truly brilliant, very delicate and realistically shown work of the little egret.
It is by the gifted artist Wouter van Soest (born in 1957 in Hilversum.)

Van Soest is a pupil of Hans van Moerkerken from Weesp. For years, he studied the techniques of the old masters (both romantic and impressionist), as a painter and restorer. To this day, he is working on painting restoration of mostly antique paintings.
Van Soest is a technically very gifted and meticulous painter, who was inspired by Andreas Schelfhout (The Hague, 1787 – 1870) in particular. In the work of both Schelfhout as well as Van Soest, the viewer is hit by the strong sense of anecdotal detail that both painters have learned themselves to use very sufficiently. The techniques used by Van Soest are so time-consuming that he preferably works on small to very small formats.
Van Soest is very passionate about nature and paints mainly Dutch landscapes, seascapes and animals.
Outside the Netherlands, Van Soest also sells a lot of his work in the United States.

This work will of course be carefully packed and shipped worldwide!
