Medieval Bronze Upper part of an Apostle Spoon with a Figurine of Jesus Christ the Saviour.
Very good grade of preservation for this upper (and more important) part of the spoon which in early 15 th. Century they became popular and often usedat table in Europe (mostly used in sets of thirteen pieces).
By the sixteenth century they had become popular as baptismal presents for godchildren, but losed its popularity by the 1660s.
Date: 15th.-16th. Century A.D.
Purchased by the current owner in 2013 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair.
