Beautiful Art Deco sculpture of a dancing Pierrot / Harlequin, white glazed with black details.
Beautiful expressive sculpture designed by Emanuel Kodet (1880-1954) for Graniton.
"Graniton" - factory of art ceramics, Svijany - Podolí Czechoslovakia.
Founded in 1907 under the leadership of Josef Rydl and Karel Thon
Participated in a exhibition of art crafts in Vienna in 1911 Karel Thon became the sole owner in 1921 and in 1925 František Beneš became the co-owner Beneš died in 1926, and according to the testimony of his widow, Thon had the company declared bankrupt and moved to Italy.
The company closed its doors in 1938.
Marked with the scratched model number, and in the brush no 4, also with the black factory stamp: Made in Czecho-Slovakia - GRANITON
Mentioned in the catalogue of the company Rydl & Thon, Svijany-Podolí, 1920 - 1930
Good condition with minor signs of wear (slight discolouration on the back see pictures).
