Candelabra from an old antiques shop in old town Rome back in the 1920s
A pair of five-arm candelabra in gilt bronze and Cobalt blue French porcelain, Vincennes-Sèvres, France, late 18th century.
Richly chiselled gilt bronze in oval reserves on a blue background.
Both candelabra are hand painted and depicting an idyllic scene with lovers.
French Porcelain Brand: The most renowned Vincennes-Sèvres mark is two blue ‘interlaced’ Ls (See photos no. 6-7).
Sometimes (but not all the times) the mark includes letters which act as a code for the year of production and since 1753 to the end of Revolution follow the alphabetical order (A to PP).
To the brand are often added acronyms and signatures of the makers.
