The inspiration for these works is the book "De laatste Wildernis" by Robert Macfarlane, in which is described that man loves the wild according to Chinese artistic tradition Shan-Shui (rivers and mountains).
Robert Zandvliet lives and works in Haarlem and attended the Art Academy in Kampen. Zandvliet won the Prix de Rome in 1994, and has since been very successful nationally and internationally with his paintings.
He exhibited in many renowned national and international museums, many of which also purchased his works.
