This antique Victorian brooch is made of 585 = 14 kt yellow gold. Since it is not stamped, I gave it to the goldsmith for expert inspection and he confirms that it is 14 karat yellow gold.
Only the base of the back is made of foam gold.
The brooch is worked with two rosettes, which are connected by a reliefed gold bridge. Each rosette is studded with black flower-shaped onyx segments, each set with a small, real, grey-white, miniature size river pearl in the centre. These onyx flowers are surrounded by broad, articulated gold edges in a finely polished surface.
Size of onyx flowers 8 mm in diameter,
Antique piece of jewellery in rare 14-karat version and in very good, well-maintained condition.
