150mm. Good condition, see description

This is a beautiful, heavy for its size, vintage, Dhyana-Asana Buddha 禪佛 in Gilt Bronze with Turquoise settings, from the second part of the 20th century ( possibly earlier).

With a serene expression and long ear lobes, he sits on a double lotus throne. His snail with ritual blue colour (ground Lapis Lazuli) remnants in his hair, his hands in Dhyana Mudra, he wears the traditional robes/Dhoti with decorative edges, of an enlightened Buddha. He has two ritual gem settings on the forehead/Urna, and top of the head/Ushnisha.

The base has a copper consecreation plate with a Yin Yang Vajra symbol stamp.

This is a wonderful, genuine antique for the collector, gift, altar, or an impressive interior design statement.

I've reset the empty jewellery settings with 2 quality, hand made Turquoise Cabochons. These are natural, untreated, undyed rare Persian Turquoise ( Only 3% of the worlds Turquoise is natural and untreated. I was a successful acclaimed Jewellery Designer in Soho, London in the 1990s).
