Complete with the original packaging (a beautiful box), certificate and screen print. Hanco Kolk (Den Helder, March 11, 1957) is a Dutch comic artist and writer who is mainly known for the comic Gilles de Geus and the daily newspaper strip S1NGLE.
Kolk made his debut in the magazine Tante Leny Presenteert!. After some time working anonymously for Donald Duck magazine, he made the transition to comic magazine Eppo in 1984, with the comic Gilles de Geus. With Peter de Wit, he made the photo comic Mannetje & Mannetje, which later appeared on TV. Since 2001, the duo has been making the comic S1NGLE for various newspapers.
Kolk achieved an artistic highlight in 1992 with his comic Meccano, which became hugely popular. Another highlight, especially for Kolk himself, was a commission from the renowned magazine The New Yorker for a series of illustrations in 2006.
In 1996, he won the Stripschapprijs for his entire oeuvre. In 2009, he received the P. Hans Frankfurther prize.
