Age: secind half 20th Century, in the Style of the Ayutthaya Kingdom (1350 - 1767)
A finely crafted seated Crowned Buddha, made in the Ayutthaya Kingdom style that was popular inbetween the 15th to 16th century. The figure is wearing the jewels and attire of a Royal Buddha and is also crowned with a Khmer inspired headdress resembling a newly interpreted Khmer style that reemerged in Lopburi, after the downfall of the preceding Khmer Empire, in this part of Thailand. The Figure is seated in the meditation posture, the legs in the half Lotus position. The base has a small, floral style bordering.
In good condition; Nice green patina.
