Very beautiful 3-part Art Deco multicoloured earthenware Boch Keramis cabinet set, with decor ‘Olga’.
The cabinet set was made by master ceramist Charles Catteau, consisting of a jardinière and two large vases with multicoloured decorations of stylized flower garlands running towards the neck, heavily stylized carnations running in various strips across the vase & jardinière. Made by the Atelier de Fantasy of Charles Catteau-Boch Keramis in La Louvière around 1923. The decor was hand-painted and is covered in a shiny, crackled and transparent glaze, the flower garland is repeated various times throughout the circumference.
The decor is included in the book "Art Deco Ceramics Made in Belgium" by Marc Pairon.
The three-part cabinet set is in good condition with minor signs of wear (see photos), 1 hairline crack on the inside of one of the vases and 1 blurring of the enamel.
Marked with the blue Boch stamp, decor number = D788 Olga shape, number = 446.
Rare in such a set of 3, a must have for the Art Deco enthusiast.
