Similar figurines of this type, from the Luba country, are visible in the museum of Tervuren. Classically, this statuette depicts a woman holding a cup in front of her, this kind of object is called “Mboko”.

Please note the detail on the ventral scarifications. The hairstyle is inspired by the “master of the cascading hairdos”.
