Wood, tapestry nails.

Chief’s staff topped by a janiform figure reminding the Nkishi power statuettes.
We can easily recognise the Songye cubist style.
Little faces are also present on the handle. Rare object of very beautiful craftsmanship.
We can typically find tapestry nails on very ancient pieces, like this dignitary’s staff or on knives’ pommels for example.
Wonderful patina.
