Very fine handmade antique silver pocket knife.

From the 19th century.

Pocket knife is nicely detailed with hand decorated fine engravings.

Both handles are nicely assayed with the old sword and maker’s mark JS? Presumably from J. Schijfsma (Sneek / Woudsend),
1844 - 1884.

Has a folded length of 12.3 cm.
Length of the silver grip is 7.2 cm and the width of the grip is 1.2 cm.

Weight is 32.00 grams.

The silver handles are in beautiful condition.

Pocket knife is in good condition for its age, the knife is equipped with a clipping spring.
You have to press the knife firmly into the blade, the knife will stay in place and will be opened by squeezing forcefully in the top (it is really heavy and you have to find the exact!
It takes some searching but it works.

This kind of 19th century silver pocket knives are extremely rare and are only rarely offered.
