Officer’s sword of the light cavalry, 1822 model:
Total length: 106 cm, blade: 93 cm
Officer’s sword, fancy version inspired by the 1822 model
The hallmark ‘BF’ for ‘BALP France’ indicates a sabre made between the two wars in St. Etienne.
Third Republic type sabre Mount made of copper-plated brass, three-branched wrist guard, short tailed cap, handle made of horn with copper filigree, curved blade with hollow slit, steel scabbard with a ring for the cord.
The sheath is nickel-plated.
In good condition, a few small dents in the sheath (see photos).
There is no looseness; hallmarks on the blade: a sword and the letters ‘BF’.
See photos, I will happily answer your questions.
