Marmite Americaine (1) - pottery and tin
France - late 19th century

Rare and antique piece also on display in the Museum Flaubert & d'Histoire de la Médecine in Rouen/France

End 19th early 20th century porcelain and pewter pot, used for bain-marie cooking and sterilization purposes. It is closed by a first cover in white porcelain equipped with a grip handle. A pewter screw cap that was screwed on was the second closure.

This invention 'marmites Americaines' won the Gold Medal at the Exposition d'Hygiene in Paris in 1888
