Henri FOLEY was head of the Sahara laboratories of the Pasteur Institute in Algiers (Laboratoires sahariens de l'Institut Pasteur d'Alger). He proved louses to be vectors of recurrent fever.
Eugène André OUDINÉ is considered the 'Father of the Modern Medal', made famous medals, monumental sculptures and portrait busts in Paris.
