From 1858 to 1994 the beer was richly flowing from the brewing boilers of the Lamot brewery. Nowadays you can still see these boilers, but beer is no longer brewed in the brewery. At one point Lamot was the fourth largest brewery in Belgium and the brewery filled the whole district. Some beers that were brewed at Lamot were Pilsor Lamot, Export Lamot and Maibock. Later on, the Lemonade Colibri was also produced. Not the entire brewery has been preserved, but part of the buildings has been rescued from demolition. These buildings have been serving as a brasserie and as a congress and heritage centre since 2005. History and modern times go hand in hand like this.
