A beautiful Art Deco radio, probably a DIY kit from 1935-1939, fully restored and perfectly working.
Judging from the layout/valves, this seems to be a self-built copy under SBR license.
The cabinet was fully stripped, coloured and treated with white high-gloss lacquer (maintenance-free).
The buttons were polished and protected with high-gloss lacquer.
Almost all capacitors + most resistors were replaced.
The defective original “magical eye” 6G5 was replaced by the affordable and more robust Russian 6E5C Other valves 80/6A7/77/75/42 test well/very well.
Volume potentiometer with switch replaced.
Power cord and plug replaced (cable covered with textile).
Speaker cloth is NOS
Connection for record player and external speaker (5-8 ohms) by means of banana plugs.
Record player input deduplicated with jack 3.15 mm, enabling direct connection of modern devices (cable included).
Good reception of all wavelengths with long (outdoor) antennas and grounding in interference-free environment on LW, MW and SW.
