Old oats container box from France with a beautiful patina and look.
These crates were placed on carriages in the past and were used for storage of oats for the horse. They were therefore also called coachman’s box.
The crate is made of some kind of fruitwood, of heavy decent quality and has 2 handles on the side an 1 handle on the lid.
On the inside are 2 iron plates, presumably used to secure the box to the carriage.
The crate is gorgeous, authentic and has been used many times. The wood of the handles is beautiful and smooth. Apart from this it has a gorgeous patina and light shimmer.
The crate weights 12.5 kg, will be shipped by registered mail in the weight class 10-20 kg by PostNL both nationally and internationally.
