Herzog - beekeeper pipe

Description
Herzog - beekeeper pipe
Germany - Good condition - used with small signs of aging & blemishes

Beautiful entirely complete beekeeper or Dathe pipe of the brand HERZOG with the designation DRGM, DRGM means "Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster" and is a design or use patent somewhat similar to a "registered" mark that provides for a first period of three years of protection expandable with another three years to six maximum. These were first published in 1891 and were discontinued after World War II.
The beekeeper blows smoke in the hive which makes the bees think that there is a fire. They then suck themselves full of honey to be able to flee and thus remain calm so that the beekeeper can do his work.
The nozzle is flexible and has a bakelite mouth piece.
The photos speak for themselves.
