In Winnie Seifert's studio, free forms, informal gestures, excessive brush strokes and uncontrolled processes become a diverse repertoire of tools to create pulsating worlds of colour. Winnie Seifert develops paintings with an often pastose style and powerful compositions, in order to take viewers into pictorial worlds in which they are supposed to trace their own imaginative associations - far from earthly and optical viewing habits. She seems to want to set tracks with bizarre work titles, which are supposed to get the imagination going, but which also allow viewers to lead around with their noses. Her titles unite the creative process with the finished work and reflect the considerations the artist made in front of the picture.
