Classification: Martian meteorite (Shergottite)
Fantastic slice of NWA 12269 meteorite that was classified as Sergotita Marciana, after all the timely studies and analysis. It shows minimal signs of weathering, so it looks fresh and without much ground metamorphism, which increases its scientific value because of the low level of contamination that it suffered while in contact with other materials of our planet.
Although normally meteorites from Mars have a very small size, the specimen that we offer is a good size specimen of this rare meteorite from our sister planet. Thin slice, cut with a diamond thread. Excellent weight-to-surface ratio. Fantastic!
Martian meteorites are the scarcest ones that exist, because of what they represent genuine wonders of the Universe in our hands.
A piece worth of a great collection.
