Dietmar Busse (1966-) - Jamie

Description
Dietmar Busse (1966-) - Jamie
Gelatin-silver print, Double exposure - Studio stamp

Jamie is part of the 2010 series "The visitors".

The protagonists are all well-known characters from the Downtown Scene in Manhattan; artists, gallery owners, art critics, performers, transsexuals, actors and other new York night wildlife fauna. They were all portrayed in their studio home in the centre of the Big Apple. In this quiet environment that Busse deliberately creates the individual (whom he called "Starlets") feels relaxed and willing to reveal who he really is.

The snapshots that make up this exhibition are all in black and white because, according to the artist ,"they have a more emotional quality" and evoke, by their composition, the classic photographs from the 1930s and 1940s.

It comes directly from a mutual friend of Dietmar Busse, from the photographer's first exhibition in Spain.

The photograph is in perfect condition, it only has 4 small holes at each end that it seems were caused by having used pins in it.
