[Gabriel Brémond]
Hattigé, ou les amours du roy de Tamaran nouvelle.
Cologne: Simon l'Africain, 1676
91 pp, 8x14 cm
Paperback (new cover, marbled paper), foxing, browned pages, signature on the title page
Pirate edition (?) of a short story about the maritime and gallant adventures in the East of a young knight from Malta. The plot is set in an imaginary city (Tamaran) that allows the author to create an oriental universe, with the storylines specific to the world of the seraglio. It is a satire of the secret loves of Charles II of England and the Duchess of Cleveland. Fictitious place and publisher: the printing would have been carried out in Belgium or the Netherlands (Amsterdam: P. Warnaer?)
