Geneviève Asse is a painter who was born in 1923 in Vannes, France. She now lives and works between Paris and the Gulf of Morbihan. Her taste for painting is nourished by the work of Sonia Delaunay. She joined the National School of Decorative Arts in 1940. The artist's name has now become synonymous with the blue colour. Geneviève Asse found a gentle passion for this colour she relentlessly declines. In her abstractions of blue, Geneviève Asse thereby develops an entire landscape and a story. Her work is featured worldwide: a retrospective was dedicated to her work at the Centre Pompidou in 2013.
