The particularities of this series are the set amber and the small mintage. The coins are celebrating capital cities that are situated along the ancient trade routes, each of which have been used for the transport of amber and other trade goods in antiquity.
Obverse: in the centre is a horse and a cart with which the Romans transported amber from the Baltic Sea to Italy.
Above this, the head of a Roman and a map with the outline of the Baltic Sea are depicted. On the upper edge is the writing 'Amber Route'.
Below left a portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II, also more information.
