Pietro Rossi 1738 born Florence – 1804 was an Italian scientist and entomologist with a keen interest in promoting and cataloging moths in his native Italian countryside.

A group of four detailed, accurate illustrations of moths on their correct foliage found in the Countryside of Tuscany in the years preceding publication. This was the first time these moths had ever been drawn in this rare book of 1794. These were hand coloured at the time of publication in an extremely beautiful and delicate manner.
