Statue of a sky dancer, so-called Dakini Plaster coloured with bronze and gold. India. No additional base. Weight: 4.9 kg.

A Dakini (Sanskrit डाकिनी ḍākinī "sky dancer", Tibetan: Khandro, wylie: mkha" "gro ma: "air" or "sky-transformer") is a tantric spirit of ancient India and Iran, which, according to mythology, conveys the souls of the dead to heaven. The Dakinis are female beings with a very changeable, sometimes wild temperament, which act as inspiration for the spiritual practice. They can appear as peaceful, wrathful and mixed peaceful-wrathful figures.
