Trans-Am widebody 455 H.O. 1976
Build sheet available.
One of the last ones with the powerful 7.5L 455 H.O.
Engine code WX.
Delivered as a manual 4-speed, with a limited slip differential, at the request of the owner it was converted in the Netherlands to a TH400 automatic.
This was done because the owner found the clutch very heavy and also for driving comfort and consumption.
All parts of this Trans-Am are in excellent condition.
Documentation and history available.
Registered in 1991 and then used.
Converted into an automatic in 1993 for comfort.
The manual gearbox was very short and the clutch very heavy.
On average 500-1000 km driven per year in recent years.
The original 455 engine was completely overhauled and rebuilt by Dymo-track in Heemstede.
The engine is equipped with a mild, faster camshaft, an Edelbrock carburettor in combination with an inlet manifold and 1.25 inch 4-1 headers.
Ignition has also been replaced for a full electronic ignition.
Very little driven in recent years and always kept in heated storage.
Headers are 4x1.25 inches to 1x3 inches reduced to 2 inches because of the sound.
A dual exhaust system of 2 inches from the headers has been chosen because of the sound.
The car can be viewed in Zaanshoek, North Holland.
