This is an old music/jewellery box with ballerina. This can be gleaned from the dancer who was not made in one part, as was customary later. (The legs are fitted separately). The jewellery box is of an exceptionally beautiful quality with intarsia finish and an ornate brass handle. The lid also has a striking decoration with brass element, probably intended to hold a piece of paper or note. The box is lined with red velvet. Note also the exceptional and special shape of the box (with convex sidewalls). At the bottom is the wind-up button. The music mechanism is in good working order.
