This is a cityscape of the Dutch painter G. Nijland.
Framed in a dark brown wooden frame with a beige rim.
Origin: at the time, the painting was bought at an art dealer in Rotterdam.
That Nijland is not an unknown painter is clear from Annuiaire International des ventes, peintures and sculpture, a yearbook for the art connoisseur, in which his name and works appear.
After having lived in Paris for years, he left for America.
After several exhibitions in New York where his works were bought by individuals, companies and museums he moved to Oceania and New Caledonia.
In 1975, he returned to the Netherlands.
He paints abstract compositions, cityscapes and church interiors.
He is listed at RKD - Dutch Institute for Art History -
