The image is printed on washi paper (with the characteristic vertical lines), and without a thorough inspection it is hard to see that this is not a woodblock print.

Comment: the 'Bijin' is wearing a Takasago-dyed kimono. Takasago fabric dying is a process which was developed in Japan in the 1600s.
