K. Schippers, pseudonym of Gerard Stigter (Amsterdam, November 6, 1936), is a Dutch poet and prose writer. Together with Gerard Bron, Henk Marsman (Bernlef) and Frits Jacobsen, he founded the Barbarber magazine in 1958. In 1975 he became editor of the magazine Hollands Diep. K. Schippers introduced the readymade as a form of poetry. In 1996 he received for his poetry the P.C. Hooft prize. After 1976 he hardly wrote any more poems and switched to novels. However, ‘Tellen en wegen’ appeared in 2011.
In addition to his literary work, he is an editor and art critic, and he writes advertising texts. In 2006 he received the Libris prize for his novel ‘Waar was je nou’. (Wikipedia)
