Name: Antrimpos speciosum.
Stage: Late Jurassic, Tithonian.
Origin: Mühlheim, near Solnhofen, Germany.
The plate has not been glued and measures 9.9 x 8.8 cm. It weighs 210 g and contains a beautiful crustacean measuring 5.6 cm ‘stretched out’. The fossil has been covered with a mat preparation varnish for stabilisation purposes. Note the beautiful contrast with the plaque.
