Beautiful, coloured tooth of the extinct big tooth shark; Carcharocles megalodon. This tooth is no less than 15 cm long and 11.3 cm wide with a weight of 414 grams. The tooth comes from the upper jaw. It was surfaced by a friend who is a diver from the Cooper River near Charleston in South Carolina. The tooth comes from the Miocene and is between 15 and 20 million years old. The back of the tooth is somewhat eaten away by barnea candida mussels. The photos speak for themselves.
