A magnificent retrospective of the Japanese master!

Celebrated and discussed throughout the world, Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki is, without a doubt, one of the most interesting and innovative personalities in contemporary art. Not only for his scandalous bondage scenes or other accounts of a nocturnal Tokyo where anything is allowed, but above all for his ability to combine the past with the present, the formal precision with advanced technology, always in balance between thought and feelings, and always able to involve all those who come in contact with him. Araki Gold is, after several years, a completely new work, a collection of almost all unpublished photographs, based on the superb series dedicated to Ginza which he produced in the 1960s. A number of Love Stories, such as the very elegant Bondages, have also been created recently and are in addition to the new ColorRays series and with unusual portraits of noble Japanese families. The set is completed by the indispensable Tokyo Diary which is still being produced today.
