Gaja Ca’Marcanda Promis.
The grapes for this wine are from the Maremma, the
relatively cool, coastal area west of the
Chianti area. The soils are primarily made of terre brune (brown soil),
rich in clay and sand.
The grapes each are fermented separately for 15 days in
stainless steel tanks. After this, the wine matures during 12
months in old barriques (barrels). Then, the wine is
blended and bottled and it matures in the bottle for several months.
55% Merlot, 35% Syrah and 10% Sangiovese.
Scent and taste:
A mature, creamy and soft wine with melted
vanilla tones, due to its subtle wood-ageing. The wine
with sweet blackberries and blueberries, is packed with black fruits,
and can, thanks to its medium full structure, also be drunk when still young.
Lovely with beautiful pasta dishes or spicy
The label is an abstract depiction of the landscape
in the area. The blue planes refer to the
trees that are on both sides of the roads.
